In this service, the Biblical accounts of Christ’s last hours are read, followed by musical selections. The sanctuary is gradually dimmed so that worshipers experience the sadness of Christ’s suffering and death. At the end, worshipers will sit in darkness and silence to remember Christ’s death.
We will keep watch with Jesus during the hours he hung on the cross. At the beginning of each half hour, Pastor Ken will give a short devotional on one of Christ’s seven last words from the cross, with the seventh word at 2:55. The sanctuary will be open for individual mediation/prayer with quiet being observed EXCEPT during the seven devotionals.
Everyone is asked to bring something for the Agape Feast (fruit, cheese, bread). We will share our food and then share communion around the tables. The early church always shared a meal and then communion when they met. Let’s re-enact the Agape Feast together.
